I am currently working as a Sr. Professor in Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), which
is a premier training institute for officers of Indian Railways under Ministry of Railways.
I have been in the Indian Railways for over 25 years
and have held various positions across diverse range of fields. I am passionate about my work and have a deep interest in
the development of the railway sector in India. I am also an avid learner and always strive to keep myself updated
with the latest advancements in my field. I am proud to be a part of the Indian Railways and contribute to its growth
and success. My journey in the Indian Railways has been rewarding and fulfilling, and I look forward to continuing my service.
My Professional Experience
- Dr. Ashish K. Agrawal have been working as Senior Professor/ Electrical Technology and Energy Management
since Feb, 2025. He is an Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer from 1997
batch, holding Bachelor of Engineering from Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College, Master of Business
Administration and Doctor of Philosophy from the esteemed Banaras Hindu University (BHU) while also currently pursuing a
Bachelor of Laws degree from Lucknow University. His professional development includes Advanced Management
Programs at prestigious international institutions ICLIF Malaysia and INSEAD Singapore, along with a number of specialized
courses at the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), Vadodara & other CTIs.
- He has over three decades of diversified railway field experience, having successfully headed
locomotive maintenance and train operations across multiple divisions including Ambala, Varanasi, Jhansi, Prayagraj
and Lucknow for six years. His technical expertise encompasses electrical construction planning,
traction distribution maintenance, and power supply supervision spanning ten years across various
divisions. Notable leadership roles include heading R&D and Vendor Development for TPS units at RDSO
Lucknow, managing Personnel Department as Chief Personnel Officer, and overseeing Public Relations,
Publication, and Library units. His research contributions include publications on Indian Railways
critical analysis, staff councils, and automatic phase switching sections, while his achievements
feature innovative cost-saving solutions, green energy initiatives, and exceptional safety records
with accident-free operations despite significant staff deficits.
